Since 2018, ThermoStaff has focused exclusively on the HVAC, refrigeration, and thermal industry.


The firm was built around a simple observation:

Meet the Founders of ThermoStaff


Devin Friesen

Co-Founder - Head of Recruitment & Business Development

Devin Friesen founded ThermoStaff after building his career inside the HVAC and thermal industry, both in the field and on the manufacturing side of the business.


He began as an HVAC/R technician, working directly on real systems in real environments, before moving into technical sales supplying copper and specialty materials to OEMs manufacturing chillers, heat exchangers, and refrigeration equipment. That combination gave him a rare, end-to-end view of how these businesses actually operate, from installation and service to engineering, production, and operations.


Across every part of the industry, Devin saw the same problem repeat itself: companies weren’t losing because of market demand, they were losing because they couldn’t consistently hire the right people.


ThermoStaff was built to solve that problem. Today, Devin leads the firm with a focus on disciplined, industry-specific recruiting and talent systems designed specifically for HVAC, refrigeration, and thermal companies.


Bonnie Figueroa

Co-Founder - Head of Talent Management

Bonnie Figueroa brings the people-systems and talent architecture expertise behind ThermoStaff.


She spent years working in the talent management and recruiting industry across recruitment firms, Fortune 500 companies, and high-growth startups, where she specialized in building hiring systems, improving selection processes, and professionalizing how companies attract, evaluate, and retain talent.


Across those environments, Bonnie saw the same pattern: most companies don’t fail because they can’t find people, they fail because they don’t have a real system for hiring, onboarding, and managing them.



At ThermoStaff, Bonnie applies that experience to the HVAC/R and thermal industry, helping contractors, manufacturers, and service companies move from reactive, instinct-based hiring to disciplined, repeatable talent systems that scale.
